Refund Policy

REFUND POLICY

Last Updated: August 4, 2026

Overview

American GED Online Center ("Company," "we," "us") offers a transparent refund policy for all purchases of our $380 GED Preparation course and any related educational products or services sold through our website.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle handles all billing, customer service inquiries, and returns. Refunds are processed by Paddle in line with the Paddle Refund Policy.

1. Refund Eligibility

1.1 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

If you are unsatisfied with our Service for any reason, you may request a full refund of $380 within 30 calendar days of your purchase date.

This is a no-questions-asked refund window. You do not need to provide a reason, though we welcome feedback to help us improve. Requests are made through Paddle at paddle.net, or you can email us at Refunds@americangedonlinecenter.com and we will pass the request to Paddle.

1.2 Requests After 30 Days

The money-back guarantee covers the first 30 days. After that period, refund requests are still reviewed by Paddle on a case-by-case basis, and we will always consider requests made in good faith — including technical problems, billing errors, duplicate charges, and personal hardship. Nothing in this policy limits any refund or cancellation rights you have under applicable consumer law.

1.3 Downloadable Course Materials

Our student dashboard offers the complete GED preparation textbook as a downloadable PDF. Downloading it does not remove your right to request a refund within the 30-day window.

  • The download is optional. You can complete the entire course without downloading it.
  • Each download is recorded against your account (date and time) for our records.
  • If your purchase is refunded, your licence to use the downloaded materials ends and you must delete your copies.

2. Non-Refundable Scenarios

The following situations fall outside the standard money-back guarantee and are reviewed individually by Paddle and by us:

  • Requests outside the 30-day window (see Section 1.2).
  • Fraud or abuse: accounts suspended for cheating, harassment, credential sharing, or redistribution of our content.
  • Duplicate purchase: where you would prefer it, we can consolidate your access into a single account instead of refunding.

We do not treat progress through the course, or downloading materials, as a reason to deny a refund.

3. Refund Process

3.1 How to Request a Refund

  1. Visit paddle.net and look up your order using the email address you used at checkout, or email Refunds@americangedonlinecenter.com with the subject line "Refund Request – [Your Name] – [Order ID]".
  2. Have the following information ready:
    • Your full name
    • Email address associated with your account
    • Order ID (found in your confirmation email or account dashboard)
    • Date of enrollment/purchase
    • Brief reason for the refund (optional, but helpful)

3.2 Review & Approval (2–5 Business Days)

Paddle, together with our refunds team, reviews your request — normally confirming that your purchase date falls within the 30-day window and that your account is in good standing. You will receive an email confirmation within 5 business days.

3.3 Processing Time (5–10 Business Days)

Once approved, Paddle issues the refund back to your original payment method:

  • Credit/Debit Card: 5–10 business days (your bank may take an additional 2–3 business days to reflect the credit)
  • PayPal / Digital Wallet: 2–5 business days
  • Bank Transfer / ACH: 5–10 business days

Note: You are responsible for verifying the refund with your bank. Contact us immediately if you do not see the refund within the timeframes above.

3.4 Account Access After Refund

Upon refund approval, your student account will be deactivated and you will lose access to all course materials, practice tests, progress data, and downloadable resources. You may re-enroll by making a new purchase.

Important: Any work-in-progress notes, custom study schedules, or recorded progress will be deleted after 30 days. We recommend downloading any personal notes or study materials before your refund is finalized.

4. Special Circumstances

4.1 Medical or Hardship Exceptions

If you experience a documented medical emergency, family hardship, or unforeseen circumstance that prevents you from using the course within the 30-day window, you may contact us at Refunds@americangedonlinecenter.com to request an exception. Please provide:

  • A brief explanation of the hardship
  • Relevant documentation (medical certificate, etc., if applicable)
  • Your proposed resolution (extension, account credit, or refund)

We evaluate exceptions on a case-by-case basis and respond within 10 business days.

4.2 Service Outages or Technical Failures

If our Service is unavailable for more than 48 consecutive hours due to a technical issue on our end, and this impacts your ability to use the course, you may:

  • Request an automatic 30-day course extension at no additional cost, or
  • Request a pro-rata refund (refund for the days the Service was unavailable)

Report technical issues to Refunds@americangedonlinecenter.com with screenshots or descriptions of the problem.

5. Chargebacks & Disputes

If you dispute your purchase through your bank without first requesting a refund through Paddle or this policy, we will:

  1. Attempt to resolve the issue directly with you
  2. Provide documentation to your bank showing your access to and use of the Service
  3. Work with Paddle, as Merchant of Record, to resolve the dispute

We strongly encourage you to contact paddle.net or us first before initiating a chargeback. Most disputes are resolved faster through direct communication.

6. Subscriptions & Recurring Charges

If you enrolled in a recurring/subscription version of our course:

  • Monthly billing: You may cancel at any time through paddle.net; the 30-day money-back guarantee applies to your initial purchase
  • Annual prepay: If requested within 30 days of purchase, you receive a full refund of the annual amount

Manage or cancel your subscription at paddle.net, or contact Refunds@americangedonlinecenter.com.

7. Gift Purchases

If someone purchased our course as a gift for you:

  • Refund requests must come from the original purchaser or account holder
  • The refund must be requested within 30 days of the original purchase date
  • The refund is issued to the original payment method used at purchase

8. Refund Policy Changes

We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated "Last Updated" date. Refunds for purchases made before a policy change are governed by the policy in effect at the time of purchase. Significant changes will be communicated via email.
